Frequently asked questions
What actually makes Dtablet smart?
Dtablet opens with your phone using a biometric lock such as fingerprint or Face ID. You can log your medication in the app and be notified if you forget to take it. Dtablet can also be tracked, so you get an alert if you leave it somewhere.
Does Dtablet detect if pills are taken?
No. Dtablet does not include sensors to register pill intake. The product is designed for everyday medication users, with a strong focus on simplicity, aesthetics, and ease of use. We have deliberately chosen not to add intake-detection sensors, as we believe the app’s clear overview provides sufficient support for managing medication routines.
Is Dtablet suitable for dependent users?
No. Dtablet is designed for independent individuals who regularly manage their own medication. If a user is unable to take care of themselves, Dtablet is not intended to be the appropriate solution.
Can others see medication intake?
No. As of now, we have not set up a way for others to check whether you have taken your medications. This is a conscious choice to maintain the user's independence and privacy.
How does Dtablet handle multiple daily doses?
Dtablet is designed with seven compartments, one for each day. If you use medication both morning and evening, you can use the same compartment if you can distinguish the tablets. If not, you can use alternate days. We are already planning to develop later versions that better accommodate this need.
Is the app included in the price?
Yes, the app is included and has no extra costs. We plan to launch a premium version in 2028, but it will be optional and offer additional services that provide added value beyond today's functionality.
Will there be more sizes?
Absolutely! We are planning to develop more sizes and versions to cover different needs.
How do I open Dtablet if the battery is empty?
Then you simply use an emergency key – a small pin that is inserted at the back of the box.
When will Dtablet be available for purchase?
We will launch in several phases. First, users can sign up for “Notify when we launch.” Next, we will open pre-orders with a $1 / €1 deposit. This will be followed by a Kickstarter campaign. After that, we will launch full pre-orders on our own website, and finally transition to regular sales on the website.
What is Dtablet and how does it work?
Dtablet is a connected physical product paired with a dedicated app, designed to make everyday medication use safer, simpler, and more intuitive.
The solution allows users to securely unlock, store, log, and track their medications in a discreet and user-friendly way, helping build better habits and greater peace of mind in daily life.
Why do we need Dtablet?
The founder of Dtablet personally uses medication and has long searched for a solution that caters to everyday people taking drugs in their daily lives. After struggling to find an effective option, he decided to create a solution himself. (You can read the founder's story here.)
Millions of people take medications outside of clinical settings—at home, at work, while traveling, or amid everyday family chaos, especially with small children. However, the tools currently available to assist them are outdated and impractical. For example, many people still rely on pill organizers that were designed in the 1950s, long before digital technology became a part of everyday life.
Dtablet is designed for the realities of today, utilizing modern digital tools to better support our current lifestyles.
What problems will Dtablet solve?
Specific challenges we address:
1. Forgotten doses: We help you remember to take your medication without needing to think about it.
2. Uncertainty: We provide a clear overview of what you've taken, eliminating any doubts.
3. Lack of documentation: We enable you to easily track and document your medication use, without the hassle of paperwork.
4. Unsafe storage: We offer a secure, childproof solution that is convenient for use on the go.
5. Limited mobility: Our system is designed to work seamlessly in an unpredictable everyday life, not just at home.
6. Stigma: We create a solution that you can use with pride, rather than something to hide away.
In summary: We make managing medications safer, simpler, and more compatible with modern living.
What does it mean that Dtablet is being launched in phases?
Dtablet was established as a company on December 3, 2024, and has since been developing the product based on insights from the user group. We have registered patents for the word mark and design, and the first phase of product development is complete. It is now possible to sign up for the interest list.
Next, we will begin a pre-sale with a €1 / $1 deposit, followed by the launch of a Kickstarter campaign, and then a pre-sale on our own website before finally moving to regular sales.
Register your interest and stay updated. According to the plan, Dtablet will be available on the market by the end of 2026.
Aren't there similar solutions on the market?
No, unfortunately. Today's alternatives include large dosing systems for healthcare professionals and pill organisers developed in the 1950s. We haven't found a solution that meets our needs.
Our patent search, conducted in collaboration with the Patent Office, has not revealed any similar products under development or launched with patents.
Who is Dtablet suitable for?
Dtablet is for anyone who takes medications regularly – either for temporary treatments, chronic diseases, or as caregivers who follow up on others' medication use.
Using a Dtablet from an early stage can also mean you avoid having to switch to more stigmatising solutions later in life, because you've already established good routines.

At the initial launch, we will offer only one color. After launch, once we reach higher production volumes, we will introduce additional colors.
What if I regret my purchase after it has been made?
You get a 100-day full return right. We want you to feel secure and satisfied with your choice.
Is Dtablet medically approved?
No. Dtablet is classified as a consumer electronics product, not as medical equipment. It is developed by applicable safety standards and will be CE-marked as an electronic device.
